Many people just don’t get the idea of a Team Build.  Sure, there are fewer enrollees who sponsor than there are who don’t.  There are also fewer with their own Domain and Hosting, fewer who know how to ftp and use a c-panel,  fewer who can write html code, fewer yet who know how to install scripts, and even fewer who can do php and java coding.

One of the maxims I heard while in College is, “Those who can_____ do, those who can’t ______, teach.”  For instance, the person who can win in court is a Trial Lawyer, those Lawyers who can’t, Teach Trial Lawyers.”  “The man who can preach does, the one who can’t is a Seminary Professor.”  Conversely, how many Lawyers do you know who don’t have a will, how many Mechanics do you know who drive rambling wrecks, and how many Painters live in a house that needs painting. Wondering what any of this has to do with Teamwork?

When it comes to translating this wisdom into internet analogies, how many recruiters do you know who have productive Teams?  By productive I mean Teams of people making money.  Many don’t have a loyal following because they make all the money while the Team just pays to occupy space.    There are a great many people who can recruit but this often does not translate to large incomes because there is such a high rate of attrition.  When recruiting for a program that has a monthly subscription, the risk of fall out is greatest.  People just don’t like monthly fees as much as they like residual income.  And while attrition does not have the same affect on a one-time-fee program as it does on a monthly subscription program, it catches up to the super-recruiter when the enrollee does not even qualify to make money because he/she can not sponsor.

To put it another way… why are there so many people (97+%) who are not making money online, especially since those ninety seven percenters are putting their money into the system buying stuff?  Why is there such a feeling that the gurus are screwing us over?  Why is it that people do not buy a Team or Mentor as evidenced by their tendency to hop from one program to the next?  I believe it is because people are looking for the treasure and haven’t found anyone who can or will deliver.

There is a growing trend coming out of the emphasis on Branding called Team building.  But for most, that just means doing your own thing together.  There are very few pure Team builds that benefit everyone involved, and one reason is that most who try fail to understand how and why it is done and can not shake the WIIFM mentality.  Their selfish ambition keeps them from being selfless enough to help their downline achieve success.

Ads are shown all over the internet proclaiming, “I will build your downline”, “our team recruits for you”, “come get spillover”, etc.  Yet, people who take the bait seldom make any money because they don’t qualify for it.  Only in a force filled matrix where someone else’s recruits qualify them can a person who fails at recruiting survive and profit.  Joining a program where the promise is not delivered, makes the enrollee wary about joining matrices, but getting in and having someone deliver on the promise to receive spill and cycle will cement a relationship.

So, what is a pure Team Build?  Simply this… everyone promotes the same link. As people sign up for the program they are placed in the next available slot under the person whomever he/she is, irrespective of who personally enrolled him/her.  This is called a forced team build and stacks members in so there are no holes.  The ideal structure carries a one time fee to enroll and when there is a cycle there is re-entry, so that way there is no fall out, setting up a continuous cycle effect.  This structure builds a sense of loyalty among members and everyone helps each other collectively, all the way to the bank.

Heavy recruiters oft time think it punishes them to give away their people, when in reality many of “their people” never upgrade and the ones who do are so spaced out in the matrix that they have no spill over and they can’t make enough to pay their monthly fees,  if there is one.  If there is no monthly, since they can’t recruit, they end up not making any money because they never qualify, so when the next build comes along, “why should I follow him” becomes the attitude.  Of course, there is a lot of insanity (doing-the-same-thing-getting-the-same-result) online, but usually, the next thing will be joined under someone else if the last guy did not help you make any money or live up to the hype he recruited you with.

The pure Team Build makes more sense to me because, when done right it helps everyone to build and retain a downline that will follow each other into any business.  Ideally the business model will be one that is structured like the original build, ie. one time fee, force filled matrix.  And to make it interesting, sometimes the matrix is flipped or entries are done a bit differently to give more perks faster and make more friends.
