Profile of the Internet Marketer Phase One: Part One

Well…I had a restless night so I decided to get an early start on the day. I kept thinking about a new article for my Blog.

My Residual Team is involved for almost a week now in a new Team Build at SalesXplosion. And we are Leaders positioned under some of the ‘big cheeses’ on the Internet, so we are at the very top of this rotating matrix with a revolutionary payplan.

Having been online for awhile but still a newby in terms of results, I have tried lots of programs referred to as home based business which use a matrix for their payplan. And I have made a few bucks here and there but nothing life changing.

So as I think about this, and information shared with me the last few days by my Mentor I have a question for us to consider: “Just what does it take to be successful with a matrix?” More specifically, “If you are struggling with getting your 2, how do you propose to get 39?”

Let’s dissect that last question a little bit. Most of the Matrices out
there have an earning requirement which follows a scenario of “get two who get two”. And if this were a perfect world that scenario would work like a charm and be easy to do, which is exactly what all the hype out there is telling you.

But, since the internet world is based in the real world, the fallen (sinful) condition reigning here reigns there as well. Sinful men commit sin… no exceptions. However, sin and the immorality it breeds has a solution and does not need to control your business.

That is as ‘preachy’ as I will be here. It gives us a foundation to understand the absolutes that are relative to the human experience. That said, nobody gets two who get two who get two and so on down the line. This post will examine what typically happens.

MY Residual Team is Mentored by the Owners and some Team Leaders who are constantly driving home the point that there must be a time commitment backed by hard consistent effort, referred to as “consistency and persistence”. One of the challenges we face is taking a program hopper and converting him/her into a committed Team Member with roots that can grow.

Make no mistake about it, My Residual Team is the real deal. And there may be some other Teams out there that are as well. But in my experience, ‘Team’ and ‘Teamwork’ are just words that are popular and attractive in this great push towards Attraction Marketing. So are the overused and under rated words ‘Mentor’ and Coach’. But that is another subject for another day.

What we see at My Residual Team is people who are struggling to ‘recruit’ and who have a poor understanding of what it means to ’sponsor’ (two more abused words). MRT seems to attract such individuals with our brand of marketing, because we are out front with the solution to their problems. When they join a business opportunity listed in our Team Portfolio, that qualifies them for free training in our Team Skype Room.

But sad to say, tragedy among tragedies, before they ever get involved in what we are offering them, many of those ‘recruits’ take off
chasing more pipe dreams and hype without giving us opportunity to show them what sponsorship is all about. Since they do not get a taste of what we have to offer, they join another ‘team’ or business opportunity and go chasing the treasure at the end of the rainbow.

Back to the subject line… why is it that most people HAVE, and WILL never, see any real results from a matrix? To use another abused term, why don’t they see ’spillover’. My Mentor is quick to cull ads using the word ’spillover’. But in its proper context here, I believe she will be okay with me using the term.

The real fact of the matter is, most people will never see any spillover occur, for the same reason that My Residual Team loses members before thay get started. Getting two who get two to infinity is a myth. We constantly enroll new members who are in somebody’s two, but who drop out and cancel their subscription, sometimes even before their 3o days are up.
Just yesterday we had a couple of people drop out of a $ 5.00 monthly program, presumably because they hadn’t seen any spill, and the program isn’t even 30 days old yet.

Maybe that is to be expected considering economic conditions and the fact that some of our Team programs, which are all optional by the way, have monthly fees in the $ 50.00+ range. But to think that you can join a program and promote it no more than the average working person is able to promote, given time constraints imposed by family and job and get ’spillover’ the first 30 days, is almost insane. And
by definition, leaving this Team and business opportunity for another, “doing the same thing and expecting a different result” is part of the insanity that is driving the hype and scams all around us.

Working with a Team provides the mechanics for getting two who will stay with you, and if that is truly duplicated the 2×2 concept can materialize. But for that to happen someone must get your attention long enough to make you understand what constitutes failure and success and get a
commitment to Team. When you know that in an opportunity like SalesXplosion, although you can make money without recruiting, you will have to be positioned under someone who knows how to bring people in and retain them. You will also need to add your efforts to the Team effort for the plan to continue, because attrition demands a pipeline to replace it. And you will need to know that for you to max out the pay plan ‘it takes a village’.

Teamwork can accept the challenge and meet the need better than individual excellence. Don’t let some of the self seeking gurus out there fool you into thinking that if you just sign up you will make money. People drop out when they don’t make money and you need to make sure you are positioned and supported enough that you are not one of them.

This is much longer than I had originally intended and there is more to say. So until we meet again, come join us, but do more than sign up.
Consistency and persistence… commitment over time, will pay off given the efforts of many and a residual income opportunity. We have both.
