New Statistics Suggest You Are a Failure on the Internet | The Rite Biz

My Mentor was sharing in our Skype Team Room today that there is a new set of statistics out that suggests the failure rate of people seeking to make money online has increased. When you read the ads and look at the availability of information overload — ie. e-books, reports, videos, tutorials, PLR products, download vaults, etc.– and when you see all the claims made about how easy it is, how are we to understand that the 97% failure rate is now a 99% failure rate. How can this be?

The age old cycle is “join – fail – lose / join – fail – lose… that is the exact cycle, and the reason is no list – no focus – no dedication.” People are program hopping and consequently give themselves very little opportunity to be successful as they have no consistent work pattern and no loyalty to focus their efforts and attention. Most people online today are reading a few of the hundreds of emails they get everyday and they get the idea that someone out there is making a boatload of money only working an hour a day. Since that is not their experience, they think they must be in the wrong program, so they join another one, give it a few days, weeks, or months, and then repeat the cycle. There is a huge disconnect between what they want and an understanding of what it takes to get there.

I have worked with several people who are making their living online. And my experience has been that they are not working an hour or two a day. In fact, many of them seem to be married to their computer. While there are some who seem to have a life, most of them have been d0-it-all leaders with no understanding of Teamwork. Maybe they did not have anyone else on the Team that could do anything, or maybe they were too afraid that someone would cut them out and just couldn’t or wouldn’t delegate and share responsibility…, whatever the reason, they were wearing all the numbers, playing every position in the game.

Leadership recognizes that people bring different work ethic, skills, talents, experience, and abilities to the game, and everyone has a contribution to make. Even so, building a business online is hard work and requires consistency and persistence. Being self employed means that YOU are in charge and YOU are responsible for the success or failure of your own enterprise inside the scope of the Team’s enterprise.

Most everyone I know who works for “the man” on a job thinks that it is better to be self-employed. Few seem to comprehend the fact that, that means you are responsible for every aspect of your business. And if most people perform for themselves like they do on their job working for “the man”, they will most likely fail. The things they complain about on the job are the nuts and bolts that keep the business operable, and when left to do it or not do it based on what they like doing, most people would choose the latter.

Today, 99% fail because they don’t do what the business requires them to do. For instance, do you write your own ads, set them up, track them, analyze where your successes are, tweak them, and perfect the process so that your advertising campaigns get the results we all are after? Do you have and maintain a website that brands YOU,inc and do you have the knowledge how to do the technical stuff, and promote it, or the where with all to hire that done? Do you have a proven system for generating quality, targeted traffic and collecting leads and doing the follow up necessary to convert to sales? Do you have your computer files organized so you can find what you want when you need it and do the work of a marketing professional?

So where am I going with this? It is time for you to ask yourself, “Am I one of the 99%?” You know the answer… and 99 times out of 100 so do I. Chances are you need to come to grips with your lack of success. What can you do to change that picture?
